I refuse to think that just because we are moving I cannot have a summer break! For me summer is...
fun times with the kids
working out (insanely) everyday
eating fresh fruits and vegies/ and grilling all meats!
reading and reading and reading
trying new recipes
traveling to visit all our friends and family
having visitors at our house
So today I have already worked out (boot camp/ab class/yoga
And I will begin a new book...
I have chicken set out to grill later and a trip to the local produce stand will provide vegies and fruits to finish things off!

Kids
It makes you feel that as a parent the most important thing you can do is love your kids,
hold them and tell them you love them because, until we get to heaven, all we can do is hold our palms over the wounds.
It is no coincidence that Jesus talks endlessly about love.
Free love.
Unconditional love.

BUSY BED LAST NIGHT!!
Unfortunately, not that kind of busy...
the kind where 3 kids are scared to death of the thunder storm and are all cramming into your (Queen size) bed, at various times throughout the night. Finally my husband gave up and went to Mac's bed. At least he got some sleep!
Also, who in the world called us at 2:05am??? Stop it.

House For Sale
Well, all is painted and now we wait.
Wait for a buyer.
Oh that and keep the house clean at all times.
Not letting 3 kids mess up said house.
Praise God only 5 more days left of school.
Do you need a new website? Check this out.

Which reminds me that I need a business...

My Butt
My butt is big
and round like the letter C
and ten thousand lunges
have made it rounder
but not smaller
and that's just fine.
It's a space heater
for my side of the bed
it's my ambassador
to those who walk behind me
it's a border collie
that herds skinny women
away from the best deals
at clothing sales.
My butt is big
and that's just fine
and those who might scorn it
are invited to kiss it.
Just do it.
I had to re-post this because it couldn't be truer. The original post was in 2005. Oh how the problem has magnified!!!

Things I WILL miss
For someone who hasn't particularly enjoyed living in Mississippi, there are things I will miss.Truly though, only one of these things is here, and can't be taken with me (so to speak).
1. driving and knowing where I am going
2. seeing 10,000 people I know at Walmart on a Saturday morning
3. Mac has spent the last 2 nights at a friend's house. This will be the saddest/hardest part about moving. Making those friendships with strangers and then feeling "okay" about them spending the night there! It is like you have to really know the whole family. Each one has to pass the test and love my child and want to take care of my child. That requires me to be involved with that child and their parent to a certain degree. It is scary.
When we moved to Texas Kennedy was 5. She had never spent the night with anyone. We had moved in July and it was labor day weekend and our neighbor down the street asked if she could spend the night. They had 2 girls, both were older than Kennedy, but they really seemed to like her and play with her etc... So we said yes. Then at 4:30 AM they called and said Kennedy wanted to be picked up, and I was petrified thinking that something awful had happened to her and that was why she wanted to come home. Well, the next day she said "okay, I am ready to spend the whole night tonight" and she did. And it was fine and they became our very good friends and there were many spent nights between our houses. love
4. My church, Pinelake. I love everything about it. The last few times I have gone, I cannot even sit and listen without crying, knowing I will not be there much longer. It doesn't help that the preacher, his wife and kids are good friends with our whole family and we will all miss them very much.

Saturdays
Normally Saturdays are filled with soccer games soccer practice and soccer tournaments.
Today
NO SOCCER!
I feel bored.
I have been to Lowes (paint samples) Kroger (milk and donuts) Produce Market (fresh locally grown fruits and veggies, and I bought honey that was just made! FUN) and car wash (kids TRASH cars) where I dutifully picked out all the gum, dried hard candy and sticky skittles out of every nook and cranny in my expedition.
Speaking of, anyone want an expedition? I am always dying over the gas and I am idealistically thinking that my family could in fact travel 15 hours in a hybrid honda accord. I mean why not? what do we need a big, gassy truck for?
Oh yeah, and all of that done before 8:45am.
Because why oh why would you get up early on a Saturday with no soccer?
Paint color is important. The actual color says so much and I fret over exactly which color, which shade to use. But I have to say almost more important is the name of the paint color I am choosing. Today it is spun sugar. Now who wouldn't want a wall in their dining room painted spun sugar. OOO I LOVE it.
So instead of stalling, I shall get to painting...

Yea for friends
I am so happy and thankful for Kelly Trimble for updating my blog page. She did a GREAT job and now it is in my court to do an equally good job to keep things updated here. No pictures will be posted for awhile, as we are "camera-less" since last August when it was stolen in Orlando (thanks FLA) But that is good, when I really go back back back into the archives, I find that I never posted pictures and I really spent time talking. It was a journal of sorts and I am excited to have it again. Of course, I will post pictures, after I save up the cash needed for a new camera.
Super update coming right up...I have to make dinner for the 3 beautiful children living in this house. more later...

funny
okay, I just had the following conversation...
Me "what is the strength of this lotion?"
Her "It says quad, that is 5 times the regular strength."
And then later:
Me"when was the last time I was here"
Her "well, it doesn't really say. Oh here, pacifically, you were here on Wednesday"
This was an adult.
YIKES.

glimpse
I had a glimpse of what my life would be like sans Corey and Kennedy.
They have been at Ole Miss soccer camp so it is just me and Mac (7) and Emy (4). They are great kids, but they are only kids. Their conversation skills are limited, to say the least.
I have felt fine eating out lunch and dinner. No cooking.
I have also gained weight!
I have not gone to the gym, it seems like too much work.
I have fallen alseep on the couch at 8:00pm.
I am generally bored out of my mind.
oh yeah, and I haven't shaved my legs...what is the point?

summer
well, we are in full swing now... We moved ( a lot could be said about this if I could type faster and better) Corey dislocated his finger, and then I had to take him to MEA b/c he needed 7 stitches! Then we rushed off to the last soccer tournament, where we came home with 2 state champion teams (Kennedy's and Corey's U-17) Then we lived in a hotel for 2 days b/c we couldn't get into our house yet, then we finally moved in ...for 2 days before the kids and I left for South Carolina and Corey left for Dallas for another soccer tournament. We stayed in SC for 5 days and then my parents and I drove back (with a HUGE trailer of furniture) and began reconstruction on our house. My parents stayed for 2 weeks of painting, painting and oh did soemone say painting? Then 1 week of VBS and 1 week of cheer camp and off to Ohio. Even on vacation, we are busy... Corey flew to Oklahoma for 4 days and then the day he flew back I flew to Atlanta. So I am in Atlanta right now trying to be trained for my new job. I get in on Friday and then we will be able to vacation for about 5 more days before we go back to MS. Once back, Corey has basically 3 weeks of soccer camp and Kennedy is going to soccer camp and then Corey has to take Mac to Orlando for soccer and then (wait for it) Corey and I are going to Hawaii for our 15 year anniversary. I am so excited... I cannot even imagine a trip alone with my husband, and on a tropical island to boot.

what have I learned
Well, it has been a long time. A time of stressful plans. A time of wonderful growth. (wait did I just say wonderful)? ha
We are moving....to another house in Mississippi.
I have so wanted to write and say we are moving and the key being to another state. But that isn't "the plan" and so we are moving to anouther house. We have had our house fsbo for over 2 years and we just knew that when it sold, it would be the "right" time. How funny that I thought that meant we would move out of state. If you have read my blog for any amount of time, you would see the reasons why I want to move from this state. Some of you have tried to convince me that it is "like that everywhere". Sure. Well, I still want to move, but God doesn't. Let's see...who EVER wins that one? I guess you could think you are winning by moving regardless, but is that His ultimate best for you?
We believe that being here is His plan and therefore adapted (albeit begrudingly) by us.
So, we have a great new house! 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms and TONS of space! We have been living in a 3/2 1400 sq ft home, so this will be a treat. But it needs tons of work, and good thing my parents are in the house fixing up business.
Kennedy has already been to more dances than I ever went to in my whole life. She is just a public school girl! (I was a small christian school girl!) I went to 2 of them and stayed the whole time at one of them. How funny is the 5th grade!? Hilarious!
So we have lots of traveling coming up! Yea! Lots of family and friends to visit. I am so glad to see everyone.
We are heading to Mobile this weekend to visit some friends who moved there last summer, it will be good to see them. (oh right and we also have a soccer tournament) We always have a soccer related thing going on wherever we go!
We move next Friday!!!! YIKES. We are getting a POD thing, so I will tell you how that goes.
I know this is so boring! Sorry!
